The weather has pretty much ruined my joy in this day. I wish better for you.
A comedy of Eros:
On February 13th, I ordered flowers for my love to be delivered to his place of work on Valentine’s Day. Just moments after placing the order, my love casually informs me that due to an incoming snowstorm, he is not going to work on Valentine’s Day. Of course he says this as if it is of little consequence to me where he spends the day, since I am almost clear across the continent.
I immediately call the flower shop and beg to change the delivery time. I ask for same day delivery. They assure me they can do it, but it will be late in the day. I say, “No problem,” after all, his calendar is clear, and he usually works late. Of course about an hour and a half later, I learn he is going home early.
So, the moral of his story is, Valentine’s Day causes nothing but stress. I hereby declare it cancelled. Pft.
