The Comments Blogger Tried to Steal

Blogspot still won’t let me post. Here are your comments:

Dr. John — blogger robbed you of at least one comment yesterday — mine. It absolutely wouldn’t allow me to post no matter how many times I clicked that little button. I wonder — how many other comments have they stolen, hmmm?

Ack! They are going to do it again today. It will not show me the word verification letters! I’ve clicked twenty times. No word verification letters.

That’s at least two comments you know were stolen.

Al– Golf — haven’t played since high school.

Men? That’s too juvenile a pastime for men.

Chicken a la King? My stepmom used to make it often. She died in 1977 — so it’s been a couple of years.

Gawpo– Dishwasher? Mine is attached at the end of my hands. Fold t-shirts? Fold them? Why were hangers invented?

Bill — Blogger has been declining to allow me to post for the last couple of days. I could have told you that you weren’t a heretic. You didn’t need to take a quiz for that!

Polona — Your pics are perfection. The Pussywillow positively purred. The crow browsing through those lovely purple crocuses made me wish Spring would hurry and arrive.

Mumma — I’ve been reading Elijah’s bedtime stories, but I can’t leave any comments! The extra cuddles story was my favorite.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. blogger always did that to me, but if it won’t show you the image the first time, click post comment anyway. It always shows the second time for me.

  2. Tina — I clicked on Dr. John’s site over 20 times. I clicked close to that many on both Al’s and Gawpo’s — then I decioded I had better things to do with my life.

  3. I don’t think Blogger’s trying to steal anything. It just has indigestion. Happens when you try to google … er, gobble up the whole world.

  4. Eventually we’ll get all the bloggers to switch to wordpress. This made me laugh, nobody could ever say you aren’t persistent and determined.

  5. Appreciate the comment Quilly, I just took the test to see if it was close to me or not. I am beginning to wonder if you may not be the only one who is having problems with blogger, I’ve haven’t received any comments from anyone for awhile. The last to comment was Dr John a couple of days ago. Maybe OC is right and Blogger/Google has indigestion.

Oh, let your family and friends know that the new and improved blogger can be imported over to wordpress.

A wonderful weekend is wished for you. Hope you got your Friday sorted out. I wish today was Saturday as well. I woke up sick today after my ride along with the installer yesterday. I had a good time but got sick in the process.

  6. Polona — the switch to WordPress is a breeze, and all your hiostory and comments move with you intact — plus your blogger account is still waiting for you should you, for some truly strange reason, ever want to revert to poor service.

  7. Thanks, Quilly! Extra cuddles for you too! Hey I just had a similar problem (for the first time) when trying to comment on a friend’s Blogger blog, so maybe something is adrift…

We’re looking into reports of “word verification” images (i.e. CAPTCHAs) not appearing on, for example, the comments page. If you come across a missing word verification image, the best workaround is to leave the answer field blank and submit your comment anyway. The page will reload — preserving your comment — with a new image that you can then solve and re-submit your comment.

Update, Saturday 11:45AM: We’ve tracked down one culprit for this which may be mis-matched session cookies due to a recent Blogger configuration change. The solution, at least for this case, is to close and re-open your browser.
