My sisters came and went.  They pronounced O.C., “a nice man” and gave me permission to move to Hawaii.

Saturday afternoon after they left, I didn’t make internet air time because both times I tried the campus lab, the computers were all in use.  Sunday O.C. and I rowed to town (well, O.C. rowed, I rode), attended church, went out to lunch, walked around a bit and rowed home.  That evening I helped O.C. on a project, and was too busy to make the blogs.  Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well and spent most of the day asleep.

Now I am fine, but busy again.  O.C. and I leave tomorrow — with his class — for a camping trip in Canada.  Today I will be doing laundry and packing.  We leave around noon and you will be without us for 4 days.  I’ll tell you all about the trip when we get back but I don’t know how many pictures I will have. Without electricity we won’t be recharging camera batteries.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Oh, THIS sounds like a GRAND adventure! I can’t WAIT to hear allllll about it! Y’all have FUN!!! …. and I am SO relieved the family pronounced him SAFE! I was sO worried about you! 😉

  2. Glad your Sister’s approved of OC, where in Canada are you visiting?, Somewhere in British Columbia one can guess, though if your travels take you to Calgary give us a call.

  3. LOL! You think it’s the electricity you’ll be missing most? Bring lots of TP… leaves and pinecones do NOT make good substitutes.

    Enjoy camping!

  4. Polona — you’ll hear from me Monday at the latest.

SN — they didn’t come to tell me I couldn’t go. They came so they could let me go without worrying about the man as well as the adventure.

    Brig — thanks! We’ll try.

Rob — hope the batteries hold out on my camera!

Dr. John — yeah, I am. If they hadn’t I would have moved anyway, but it would have been sad.

Doug — he had also rowed me to dinner and a jazz concert the prevous weekend. While rowing the first time, the harbor seals came to scope us out. The second time, the harbor was full of big, red jelly fish.

You mean I’m not good enough for O.C. because I don’t have a Mac?

Melli — you always make me laugh.

Bill — Port Renfru. And we’ll be in a public campground which has toilets.

    Mumma — I’ll try not to ….

Morgan — public campground with facilities. About that pinecone thing — I know.

  5. ALL — we have returned from Vancouver Island, B.C. I have much to share and hope to get it up in the next couple of days. The weather was good, the scenery was fantastic and I had a grand time. Stay tuned for pictures.

  6. Of course I didn’t mean you aren’t good enough for a lucky Irishman just because you don’t have the good sense to own a Mac. It’s your blogging friends you’ve betrayed. OK, I jest. I look forward to the update.

  7. Well, O.C. liked your response …

I hate my new computer and you’ll be happy to know I am using O.C.’s Mac to type this. Come to think of it, that gives O.C. even more reason to dislike my PC.
