Impatience Learned

I was at the sink refilling the soap dispenser.  Little bodies were lining up behind me.  They wanted to wash their hands and go to lunch.  There was soap on the outside of the dispenser, so I was having a bit of trouble getting the lid off.  The kids began grumbling.  I heard: Move! Hurry up! and Whatchew doing?

Then I heard Kelly, sounding ever so much like me.  “We’re waiding for you, Miz  Chawene!”

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. The “wisdom” of the little ones… Funny how kids cut through the crap and zone in on what is important to them.

  2. LOL! I loooooooove it when kids say something and you knOW exactly where it came from — they get the tone and all the inflection down PAT! And EVERYone recognizes it!!! hehehe…

  3. Brian — repeated smiles I can handle!

Jill — direct and honest is the polite description. Tactless is the truth!

Melli — but you have to admit it’s a tad-bit funnier when it happenes to someone other then yourself!
