Long Time Coming

For those of you who have been patiently — and not so patiently — waiting, over a year and three months later, I have once again posted a short story, “Sticks & Stones” on my memoir blog:

Sugar Jay was my best-friend, but she was as spoiled as her name implies. She would never do things my way. My mud pie recipe had specific ingredients. The perfect mud pie has a firm, creamy texture, but Sugar, one of those “whole earth” freaks, kept adding rocks, sticks and pine cones to the mix.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. I want to say I can’t wait, but I have to wait because I have to go to bed as I’m up super early in the morning. So I will come back and read.

Thanks for visiting mine and your great comments. You always encourage. Thanks.

  2. I’ll try to get by to read your story this weekend. I loved the little part you put on your blog site.

Still a little down after the funeral today and didn’t sleep well last night to boot.

  3. Adults are so unfair. They don’t explain things well and still expect to be obeyed. You needed a good lawyer versed in kid law.
On the other hand you turned out well and haven’t hit anybody with rocks since. Of course if you start throwing rocks at mangoes you might.

  4. Juliana — yay! My first victu reader!

Cath — take care of you first.

Amber — funeral? How sad. Take some “you” time.

As to the stamp — the computer has assigned one to you and whenever you come it puts one up there. I believe it will always be the same on my blog, but I don’t know about other WordPress blogs. Try posting at “The Grownups Wanted Us Dead” and see what comes up.

Dr. John — no point in tossing rocks at Mangoes I can’t eat.

Shelly — thank you for understanding. Was she a brat or what?

  5. I see people doing all those things and people doing none of them. You make a good point but happy Independence Day.

  6. Betty — it isn’t fair. Once the rules have been stated they should be lived up to — a grownup taught me that. I guess it was just a fairy tale, like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.

Andrew — enjoy your 4th of July.

Doug — why is your Independence Day comment on my new “The Grownups Wanted Us Dead post? And Happy Independence Day to you.
