I’m Brilliant!

Jules, of Jules Stones, says I am brilliant.  [preens]

Hey!  I heard that!  Who’s snickering?

I can prove I’m brilliant.

Brilliant
Me: Brilliant

See?  Told you so.  Pft.  I took this self-portrait in front of the mirror and the truth was revealed in a blinding flash.  I am brilliant.  So there.

[frowns]  What do you mean Jules wasn’t talking about me?  Okay, okay, okay, the award says my blog is brilliant — but same diff, right?  Right.  [gives that look to anyone thinking about arguing]

Now — to distribute my wonderful award:

Melli — of Insanity Prevails –  who is so brilliant she positively glows.

Doug — of Waking Ambrose –  who won’t accept the award because it doesn’t fit his crusty persona, but whose humorous bite never fails to inspire me to think.

David — of Authorblog — for raising the bar of creativity ever higher.

Holly of — Holly’s Never Everland — she’s either so brilliant she glows, or she’s set her hair on fire again.

Tom of — Patterns of Ink — read his prose, you’ll understand without explanation.

Pauline — of Glimpses Intangible — who doesn’t post often, but writes poetry with heart, soul and a passion for God.

Jules — of Jules Stones — not just because she gave the award to me, but because she writes from her heart, and shares pieces of her soul as she tries to walk hand-in-hand with God.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Yes, Quilly, you are!!
To come up with such a brilliant response to being awarded, that indeed is brilliant!
I got one too, and I’m still wrecking my brains as to whom I should pass it on to! I thought of you, but now you already got one!!

Robert — blinded by the light ….

    Carletta — thank you.

Jientje — well, thank you anyway, but you get a lot of visitors, finding someone to share with should be easy.

OC — I was not flashing anybody! I had all of my clothes on! (Good thing, too, since I was in a public restroom!)

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. …

  4. Congratulations! Very cool!

Also, that picture? I don’t know how many times I’ve done that. The worst is when I’m trying to capture a one-of-a-kind picture through a window, and forget the flash is on.

  5. Quilly, you are so cute and always full of fresh surprises. I love your ‘twist acceptance speech’. 😉 And thank you for passing it right back (I didn’t expect that) and your knid words. That blesses me greatly.

  6. Holly — when you’re hot, you’re hot!

Jeremiah — hush! I wanted folks to think I did this on purpose! 😉

Jules — I’m cute! I’m cute! She thinks I’m cute!

Brian — I will hug him — and give him your regards.

    Polona — I have proven I am a nut!

  7. haha. OC does have a point, but of course you are brilliant also. But then I suppose it takes one to recognize one, haha……:):)

  8. Interesting self portrait. A little bit of Frederico Felini in you Quilly. I have a self portrait as well. I took a picture of my face one day whilst trying to see why the flash wasn’t working. A waste of film oh those many years ago.
