Backhanded Compliment?

Shelly, from This Old Farm, gifted me with a Super Commenter Award. I do believe that is her polite way of saying I never shut up. I’d like to pass this award on to the folks who are always yapping around here — that’s those of you who rarely miss commenting on a post:

Melli; Polona; Brian; AmberStar; Dr. John; Carletta; & Robert

Shelly also gifted me with the, You Make Me Smile Award. This one will be a bit more difficult to pass out. It isn’t like asking my stats-ware who the top commenters are. I have to ask my face muscles. Alas, they like ALL of you. Still, there are folks out there trying to get a laugh or a smile, so I shall name the ones who consistently offer humor.

David, Dr. John, Cath, Holly & Reba

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Oh gooooooood grief! Awards now for coming around and being your friend!? I’m going to make up an award for the people who NEVER get an award! I’m going to make up the “your blog is mediocre and bores me most of the time… and yet I come around occasionally anyway… just because I’m kind and I pity you” award! Oh okay… then I’ll shorten it to the “Well, at least you TRY” award.

Honestly Quilly – you deserve all the awards you’ve received — and NONE of the ones I would make up. I guess I just don’t really “get” the whole award thing… But thank you for thanking me for being your friend!

  2. Melli — I don’t want you to think you aren’t appreciated. Oh wait. Now the people I didn’t name think they aren’t appreciated. This SO isn’t true! Argh! A pox on all awards.

  3. Well if it’s ‘back-handed’ for you, it must be a slap upside the head for me. 🙂

Btw, are you ever going to change your blog self-portrait to something more tropical? Surfing or beach volleyball?

  4. i’m still in the process of acknowledging your LAST gift!!!

thank you so much! it pleases me that i give you smiles. i loves that.

OH ! OH ! OH ! i see you poxed the awards. you are SO then going to love one of my next few posts. i am going to give my awards “the never everland treatment.” if it isn’t funny, you can punch me. yes. i know. i said you could punch me.

  5. Brian — not if it means having someone point a camera my way.

Dr. John — indeed you are.

Holly — it isn’t the awards. It’s the haves and have nots.

  6. Whoof, Whoof!!! That is very woofenderful award fur me, Quilly. Thank you very much. That’s like givin’ me a belly rub! BARK!

  7. Hah! Isn’t that funny that I was so impressed with your comment on David’s blog and come here to see you have an award for it! That’s great! And thank you for your “super” (nice) comment over at my place too 🙂

  8. Awww….that is my very first award. I’d like to thank you and the…oh…not that speech. Thank you, Quilly for being so interesting I want to come here everyday. And OC has ramped up, too. His blog has been good lately. Maybe I just didn’t see it before.

    Anyway, thank you again.

  9. Congrats to you Quilly and thank you!
You and Shelly both have thanked me for commenting. I’m just not a look and go kinda girl. I have to stop, smell the roses, and then tell you what I think of them!

  10. Awards are a nice way for blog buddies to simply let other blog buddies know how much they like them.
You are well liked, and that’s a gooood thing!

  11. Oh thank you! You make me smile so much too.
