Show Me Your Mailbox!

Robert from, Thoughts of a Father, is hosting, Show Me, his first photo project.  Rather than running with a theme for a week, Robert has a new photo request every day.  Today’s tickled me pink because just the other day I opened my MAILBOX and something other than mail popped out!  Never far from my camera, I grabbed it and started snapping pics!

I had to include the above photo because Robert asked for my mailbox.  The gecko ran out of my mailbox, but these photos show it on the door to the neighbor’s mailbox.  (Speaking of Doors, scroll down for my Open Doors Finale).

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Lizards are some of my best neighbors. Of course, O Ceallaigh will likely point out at this point that lizards are reptiles and geckos are amphibians or the productive of radiation experiments or some such but I like both so there.

  2. How wonderful of this lil guy to pose for you. He obviously makes the shot. On our first trip to Maui, one of these little geckos we living behind a framed picture on the wall. They’re really cute but just like Robin said above, they sure can make some noise. Great job on your first entry. Thanks so much for participating and I hope you’re having fun!

  3. Fun shots! We have no free-roaming, jumping out of mailbox geckos here in Colorado, so it’s great to see yours! How cool. 😀

  4. Now that is really funny ! you have a guest in your mailbox but I too ! only mine ate all the publicity which was in the mailbox, lol !

  5. I had a critter in my mailbox too!

Very cool picture. My Chicklet loves those little lizards.

I wonder, did he come with an insurance proposal? hehehe!

  6. How did I miss yours…I have a bank of boxes like this in FL…cute little critter there. FYI, check in tomorrow to see an update on my mailbox saga…

  7. That is great! I thought at first that maybe you had put a sticker on your box for easy recognition and character.
But a real surprise is so much more fun.

  8. Wonderful shots, Quilly!! Good thing you always have your camera handy. There have been a couple days now when, sitting on my couch under my laptop, my parrot has pulled some pretty cute haning upside down moves and I sO wanted to photograph her doing it, but… of course… my camera was in my purse, out of reach. My moving from under the laptop puts an end to her showing off. I think I need 2 cameras… 1 on the couch and 1 in the purse, haha.
