3WT — Ack!

I forgot!  I’m not working so I don’t know what day it is! I have errands this morning but I’ll get it up soon!  What a ninny I am!

In the meantime, visit each other – -and please don’t forget Southlakes Mom, she can’t come back and sign herself in for a couple of hours!

UPDATE:  MY 3WT:

Three Word Thursday #23

Welcome to Three Word Thursday #23. This week, joining the quondam word-list, we have tortiloquy; montivagant; & vultuous. We also have a whole list of perspicacious writers. If you enjoy reading my story, leave a comment then click on the names of the other players and go see how they used the words. You’ll be entertained (and possibly educated) all at once.

Apologetic Tortiloquy

I type here before you with a vultuous expression on my face.  In my earnest efforts to not become a homeless montivagant I forgot all about 3WT!  For that I offer my humble apologies.  (The tortiloquy part of this speech is because I am not in the least bit of danger of becoming homeless, but one should never spoil a good drama for the sake of truth.)

The 3WT #24 words will be: [drum roll]  We interrupt this post for a special announcement:

Quilly’s 3WT has received a lot of grousing of late about the difficulty of the words.  Quilly is a bit perplexed because she thought that is what everyone enjoyed so much about this exercise, however, she is willing to adapt to the needs of her struggling writers.  This weeks three words contain one perfectly ordinary word and one ten dollar word, both found in a contemporary dictionary, and one of Quilly’s truly outrageous words.  I have no idea what effect this “dumbing down” of 3WT is going to have on Dr. John’s quivel and she sincerely hopes that the dragons aren’t so upset they decide to eat her, but I have a feeling it will become even more insipid, if that is indeed possible.  So without further ado, this week’s words:

acquiesce; tadpole; & viliorate

Got it? Good! In that case: Your story is due on: August 20th, 2009

    1. Tony — indeed. They happen to me a lot! I actually thought about changing 3WT to every other week, but if I can’t remember it weekly, every other week is even more impossible!

  1. Melli — I was really very busy! I reworked my photoblog, am in the process of reviving my devotions blog and am working on the church website. Plus I have company and Amoeba to care for and Thursday just sort of snuck up on me!

  2. First of all, I want to thank you for your prayers for Warren. I cannot tell you how much that means to me. Secondly, my computer is down (I’m using Warren’s at the moment) so I have not checked my emails. I am only using Warren’s occasionally. I hope to be back on my computer in a few days!!
In the meantime……I will not even BEGIN to try to participate in this little exercise. I know my limitations!!!!

    1. But Jane, these word exercises are good for the brain! I am glad Warren is doing well. I will continue to hold the both of you in my prayers.

  3. No problem Quilly! You pulled it off in the end!

I’m back from my trip to the city. My dad is visiting and wanted to see the Charters of Freedom at the National Archives (Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights). He’s the kind who reads every word of every exhibit. When we finished there we walked across the Mall and went to the Air & Space Museum and watched Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian on IMAX. I am SO overstimulated right now! Wow!

I thought the words were just fine — I’ll enjoy these, but do feel free to go back to words that challenge us!

    1. Jientje — I didn’t so much forget the meme as I did forget the day. I still can’t believe it is Thursday already — and Thursday is almost over. Who is stealing whole days out of my weeks?

  4. I can’t say I had a problem with the words, other than the occasional grammar lapse 🙂 but I do like this new idea – mainly because of my mixing prompts from time to time. Some readers who don’t know of this brilliant prompt – even though I link to it – sometimes have difficulty understanding the story.
