This, That & The Other Thing
Just some random stuff:
I have a job interview in the morning at a local private school. They are seeking a substitute teacher. I want this job. Say a prayer for me.
Including what I earned today, in the last 31 days, I have made $146.17 on the ads and links I have put on my blog. (Thom, feel free to send me a check for $200.00 per month and I’ll stop writing paid posts.)
I won a free copy of, Mercury Falls, Rob Kroeses’ novel. You may know Rob as Diesel from Mattress Police. He’s a funny guy and I have been waiting anxiously to read Mercury Falls since I read the sample chapter on his website. If you become a fan of Mercury Falls on Facebook, Rob will add your name to the list of people eligible to win a free copy.  You can also follow Rob on Twitter @robkroese. And NO, this isn’t a paid post. It’s just my way of saying thank you for being given a novel I was more than willing to purchase.
And — if you’re still reading — Amoeba and I will be moving to Friday Harbor around the end of December or the first of January. He has accepted a position with UW at the Friday Habor Labs, and if you read his blog you don’t have to ask why. I have been in contact with FH school district and they have already expressed an interest in hiring me. You can add our pending move to your prayer list, too, if you will.

Mar — thanks! We’re excited and apprehensive all at once. The new adventure sounds grand, but the work of packing up our stuff and shipping it to the mainland awaits!
Good luck with the job interview. And as you know I’m going to really miss you and OC when you move. But I understand. I know it will be for the best. Congrats and again, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your job interview.

Well, the money is certainly improving on the blogging front. The last update that I remember you had made about 32 cents. lol Looks like a building thing. Who knows where it will lead. I really do hope that you get the job at the private school, and the fact that the school system in WA already sounds interested. Maybe this job loss thing was a blessing in disguise. It’ll allow you to have the time to get ready for the move. I pray that everything goes well for you. 🙂

Wow, congratulations on Friday Harbor! Your photos were stunning and I hope it works out well job-wise for both of you. And hey, now you and I can complain about the ceaseless rain together LOL.
Best of all, I have a sister in Oregon, and I’d love to go out and see her…. hmmm, a trip sometime next year perhaps??

How it that possible that you get so poor money for your posts ? It must work better with advertising ! I just got 200 £. Just dropped like that from heaven and it was just to put a link in an old post, nobody reads probably anymore. I don’t understand anything anymore !

Wow! I always loved moving because of the adventure, but across the sea was always a tough one. Consider yourself blessed to have enjoyed Hawaii as long as you have! You will be in prayers, definitely!
Another perspective on job loss: Yesterday on NPR they interviewed a woman who had been out of work for about a year. During that time period her mother died, and at the end, she was with her constantly. She mused, “losing my job freed me up to be with my mom as often as she wanted me to in the last year of her life.” [paraphrase]
So now you can look forward to what doors and windows and vistas God has already prepared for you there!
