Punny Monday #44

Welcome to Punny Monday. Every Sunday evening about midnight Hawaii time I post an original photo and ask my readers to figure out what was going on in my brain (or Amoeba’s) when he/I/we made it.

punny monday

What phrase does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players. The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.

PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends. Oh, and just because someone announces they’ve won, doesn’t mean that they have. Please keep guessing until I post the answers!

    1. Mumma — you have no Thanksgiving holiday to give a clue, but I guess it matters not since not even the American’s figured it out!

    1. I was so late posting the answers because 1.) Hawaii is hours behind everyone else, 2.) She never ironed Amoeba’s work shirts this weekend so She had to do it first thing this morning, then breakfast, then dressing herself for an appointment, then the appointment and …. whew!

  1. LOL, that is great… another one well done, Quilly & Amoeba. Being as I’m Canadian & we celebrate our Thanksgiving in early October, I may never have found the right answer… though I see why you chose this one at this time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and ALL AMERICANS.

  2. Well congratulations Nessa…how you got that is way beyond me. My guess was so wild Q couldn’t even publish it ROFLMAO!!! Well done. Now Q…how in the world do you get Thanksgiving from that picture? I ask you to explain this to this feeble brained idiot living a couple blocks makai from you

    1. Thom! Can I just slap you upside the head NOW? Charlie is giving THANKS! He’s praying! DUH!!! Quilly warned me… now I know…. ROFL! I still love you anyway…

      1. Thom — to pray is to give thanks for our blessings (although many people think it is to ask for more blessings without acknowledging the ones already received).

      2. Melli — Thom knew it was a prayer. AND he knew Charley was giving thanks. It was the specifics of the prayer I cannot share. 😉

      3. Okay so he’s praying…how were we suppose to know it was for Thanksgiving? hmmm I could have been that he was relieved finally or maybe that he wsn’t constipated any longer or that a problem was solved…shall I continue?

          1. Nessa — prayers of praise are generally said face up, prayers of supplication are generally said face down. Plus –see the absence of frown lines on his forehead? That means he’s smiling.

  3. I’m sorry Quilly, but Linda nees a prize for “Praying Man, ‘Tis” !! That’s clever. Also LOL at Doug and Jim!!

I’m even more sorry I was out all day and didn’t get to play! But I don’t think I would have gotten it. And considering what week it is, I would have felt a right eejit.

    Must. Know. Thom’s. Guess.
    ???!!!

    1. Susan — Linda does deserve a prize, but since I don’t pass them out, she’ll probably have to settle for our admiration. And Thom’s guess wasn’t as politically incorrect as you might imagine.

  4. Congrats to the winner! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Jim’s answer cracked me up! 🙂
Lastly, uh, Quilly “Thanksgiving” is a noun, not a “phrase” I thought?

    1. GEL — the winning phrase was Happy Thanksgiving. Nessa was the only one who even came close. I am not pressing the point because 1.) I am too busy, and 2.) I told them I wanted a phrase last week when I wanted a noun, so it is understandable that I got a noun while seeking a phrase.

      1. But Quilly — the picture doesn’t really LOOK “happy”… I really do think that was expecting a BIT much! NOBODY’s guesses had the word “happy” in them! LOL!

        1. Melli — we really thought, this being Thanksgiving Week, that the praying would be a dead giveaway. And this photo was lifted from my archives, not made for the occasion.

  5. Oh Oh, Oh! I should read comments before I ask questions. I see you were looking for “Happy Thanksgiving”…
    Great challenge, as always, Quilly!

  6. And here I thought he was just pensive…

I’m feeling a ‘right eejit’ — at least Susan would have had an excuse!

D-uh. I’m glad I’m not missing out on cash prizes!
