Argh!

An eagle just flew by my living room window.  It had a good-sized fish flapping in it’s talons.  By the time I grabbed my camera and dashed outside, it was long gone.  I wish I could photograph my memory and share it with you!

I have seen an eagle every day for the past three days.  Sooner or later I will get a photo.

Have I mentioned that I love it here?  If not, just let me say, I love it here!

  2. Oh, I just saw an eagle flying past my window Saturday and nearly killed myself and a passel of perfect strangers trying in vain to get a picture. I sympathize.

I also have a snowy egret who visits my yard and isn’t bothered by my walking around or my dogs barking but takes off as soon as I raise a camera. I have dozens of photos over the years of her tail or half her wing.

  3. I am glad you are liking your new home. When I was in the UP which has eagles, one flew toward my car as I was driving and I was surprised a
t the wing span. When they are high in the air they do not look so big.

  4. I hope you do capture him in a photo some day. I hear an owl here sometimes that I’ve yet to even catch a glimpse of, but when we lived in GA, one flew into the back yard, perched for a moment looking at the kids playing (probably investigating what woke him up), and then flew off before there was even time to react.

    Glad you love it there!

  5. Usually when I see such a sight, it is a hawk, not an eagle and it is is carrying one of my chickens! Not a pretty sight. However the past two years we have spotted three bald eagles roosting in a tree not far from us and they are spectacular.
