Punny Monday # 40
Welcome to my really late  Punny Monday!  Oh my gosh!  I was so tired last night I went to bed without a thought about the day! Sorry about that.  Better late than never?  Yes?
What phrase does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players. The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.
PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends. Oh, and just because someone announces they’ve won, doesn’t mean that they have. Please keep guessing until I post the answers!

Hmmmmmmmm….I’ll have to think on this. Let’s see…
Put on your thinking cap!
My goodness, you’ve got the same ceiling fan as us. No guessing for me today. It’s Monday and my brain is asleep.
Kay — we have two. One in the living room & one in the dining room.
Yes! Better late than never LOL
Hmmm… The cap’s tan, but “capstan” is only a word, not a phrase. I have a feeling this will be one that’s so easy it’s hard? Or so hard it looks easy?
Susan — I totally agree with whatever you said.
Sigh. When you want a word, a phrase comes to mind. Today you want a phrase, and I immediately think of a word. I thought for sure it was going to be fanatic (fan-hat-ic).
Grrrr. 🙂
Linda — sounds like this must be a golf cap then — par for the course!
if this is what i think it is it’s too easy. then again, i may have gone completely amiss in which case i’m inclined to blame french.
and i won’t know till morning – my morning, that is – as ifeel i’ll be going to bed pretty soon
Polona — yes, blame your French class. Much preferable to blaming me for choosing something this lame.
Well, it’s bedtime for me, so don’t expect much from this tired blogger right now (it’s my turn!!) ….let me think about it overnight 8)
Mar — take as long as you want to think. Of course, the answers will get posted in the meantime!
I didn’t have a clue this time, but sent in a guess or two. Once I hit send on the email totally missed what I was supposed to do. You can dis-regard my guesses.
Bill — I thought your guesses showed great imagination.
Congrats to GEL! That guess really gelled!
Linda — our Green Eyed Lady loves puns, too. In fact, she excels at them!
I came early this morning there was nothing and didn’t check back in until now. I would have missed it anyway.
Dr. John — next time I’m late, I’ll skip putting it up at all.
How can fan not be part of the answer??!! Oh, well.
Congratulations, Gel!
There were a lot of clever answers this week!
Barbara — the fan was to make certain you knew the hat was high in the air!
Gosh! It’s a late Punny Monday and I still missed it. Great one, Quilly! Congrats, Gel! Have a wonderful week everyone 🙂
Rosidah — i hope you have a great week, too!
haha- just noticed the category “your punishment.” This was a fun one. I’m surprised I was even close. Thank you for a great contest again!
See — categories — the answers fall in categories.
Thank you, Linda, Barbara and Quilly. Finding others who love puns, makes my day! 🙂
They will feel the same about meeting you, GEL, i am sure!
Um, I feel ridiculous now. If gradation cap, is the answer, then why are others congratulating me? Guess, I better sleep on that!
High Hat is the answer — graduation cap is the category of winners — of which you were first!
Welllllllllllllll I TOTALLY missed out on this one! But high hat NEVER would have come to mind! I was thinking baseball fan — but then I noticed the crab and was wondering who’s team was named the crustaceans!
Quilly… you have NOTHING to worry about! I’m probably going to have to torture her to make her see DC … but honestly I’m leaving it up to HER what she wants to do! I can NOT believe that someone would come here ALL THE WAY FROM BELGIUM and not want to be a “tourist” … but I will give her options and we’ll see what she decides! But I know if I were visiting Hawaii all I would want to see is gorgeous beaches and a volcano! LOL! I’m so easy to please!!! And I MIGHT want to visit the palace of King Kamehameha… but I’d have to be in the right mood. I would want to see a hula dance though…
Melli – you don’t want to come to Oahu looking for volcano. It isn’t here and hasn’t been for several hundred thousand years. Kamehameha history we’ve got. And why would Jineje come all this way to look at DC buildings? Do you know the history of the buildings she has in Europe? She wants scenery! (Hawaii has that!)
I completely missed seeing this post yesterday but I wouldn’t have gotten it.
Sean the Vampire – Part Six – A Halloween Recap
I am so dense. I just watched the Marx Brothers A Day at the Races last week (again) and the name of the horse…HIGH HAT!
Du-UH!
