April 10th — Poetry Playing

Before we get to today’s poem I want to remind you all to visit Poetry Playing and vote for your favorite Limerick.   There are no names on the poems to keep voting fair, but yes, I have entered a Limerick in the contest.  Do try your best to pick it, won’t you? Voting will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10, 2010. Deadline 11 PM eastern standard time today.  The Winner will be announced Sunday, April 11th.

Resurrecting Me

Jesus is Spring
rebirth
he tills the fallow fields of my soul
casting out stones
and pulling weeds
planting love
fertilizing with his own blood
harvesting life eternal.

  1. Nice poem Q. Talk about me advertising to vote you are doing a swell job at this poetry thing as well. I guess we both are in the crapper about this ROFLMAO!!

  2. I loved this one, such a wonderful way to tie Spring and Christ together through resurrection, and told from such a deeply personal viewpoint.

Il faut cultiver notre jardin, was my thought — and I do need to do that btw in many ways!

You’re a third the way through April now, wow that happened fast.

    1. Susan — sometimes the plowing can get a little painful. And somebody just seems to be snatching days off the calendar without my consent!
