Punny Monday Announcement Update
Thom wants to get complicated. He says my schedule is only fair to Europe. Personally, I think Europe should get that edge since most of my puns are American slang anyway. However ….
On odd months (January, March, May, July,September, & November) Punny Monday can post on Monday evenings rather than Monday morning:
- 1st Monday: 10:01 p.m.
- 2nd Monday: 9:01 p.m.
- 3rd Monday: 8:01 p.m.
- 4th Monday: 7:01 p.m.
- 5th Monday: 11:01 p.m.
On even months (February, April, June, August, October & December) Punny Monday will post in the early morning as described previously:
- 1st Monday: 1:01 a.m.
- 2nd Monday: 2:01 a.m.
- 3rd Monday: 3:01 a.m.
- 4th Monday: 4:01 a.m.
- 5th Monday: 12:01 a.m.
Most activity on my blog takes place in the mornings and evenings with afternoons being relatively slow. This schedule should accommodate every time zone. However, you might want to ask Susan what she thinks my chances are of keeping it straight. I’m directing you to Susan because if she hadn’t sent me an email last night commenting that she didn’t think she’d be staying up until Punny Monday posted, Punny Monday wouldn’t have posted. I have been one day behind all week and despite having gone to church, still hadn’t reset my mental clock to Sunday.
Proposed Punny Monday Posting Schedule:

First off, stop listening to Thom. He’s a trouble maker. 🙂
Second off, Susan shouldn’t encourage your bad behavior. Mondays are bad enough with out you hurting my brain.
Third off, yeah right?!?!?
Nessa — I think I had it all straight until you got to #3.
There’s no way anyone can keep that straight.
just don’t complicate too much else you’ll lose track of your own rules. and do what you think is best otherwise you’ll have 20 advisors each tooting their own horn.
(i understand very little of what has been discussed here in the last 2 posts)
Polona — exactly. I want to be fair, but I need to have a schedule I can follow easily.
Now I’m all confused. Nessa stick to the Woo Woo’s. Susan see what you started. Polona…I agree Q just make sure you send out an email when it’s going to post. I still wont get the correct answer I’m sure but what the hell.
Thom — you and Nessa seem to have totally missed the fact that Amoeba started this!
And, I usually post what time Punny Monday is going up when I send out the emails. Don’t I?
By The Way: Has Three Word Thursday been given the deep six?
Thom — no, but I am thinking of waiting until the end of Summer. We have at least one more Summer trip together and I have at least one planned alone (only an over-nighter, but still …). Plus Amoeba has a lot of band gigs coming up and we’ll be away from home more.
Okay…well I may have an announcement on my blog soon anyway. So that’s fine
Thom — anxiously await your announcement.
I know that makes it more complicated, but I do appreciate having the opportunity to win it every now and then, which I don’t in my time zone. I enjoy just playing but I enjoy winning, too. 😳
Barbara — the chance of winning always makes the game more fun, I agree.
you should post punny mundy
at mid night your time
and send the emails if you wish
all this scheduling seems like to much hassle
for a fun game
isn’t it hard enough thinking up these puns?
lets just all play the game
and have fun!
Hey, your brother-in-law started this! Take it up with him!
I think you just set them up in advance with a RANDOM post time and not TELL anybody so they can’t wait for it… it would just be hit or miss if you happen to be on the computer and Quilly HAPPENED to decide to post it at 3:07 pm then GOOD for you! But you do it however you want dear … cuz it’s your game… and I just like to play when I’m around, and if I’m not around… Oh well! *shrug*
Melli — when I used to put it up randomly only 1 or 2 people would play. It’s a lot of work so I would really like an optimum amount of folks! Besides, it’s more fun if lots of people play.
I never was able to participate because by the time I actually got a chance to get online, the puzzle was already solved. maybe now I’ll have a chance.
SN — I am trying to make it easier on those folks who are so dedicated to playing they stay up late or get up early and wait by their computer.
Mercy! You are certainly accomodating! How will you keep this straight?
And those times listed are Pacific, right?
Linda — I have a note pinned to my desktop with the times & dates on it. And those times are for whatever time zone I happen to be in. As a rule that does tend to be Pacific, yes.
I’m IMPRESSED — you’re so organized and I’m envious.
My microfiction thing goes up whenever-on-Sunday I suddenly drop something and yell “OH %$&£!!!! ” from remembering, and run to the computer. I keep meaning to set it up to post automatically for weeks in advance, but by now I have to admit a human lunar colony will probably happen first.
🙁
that is so awesome!
Susan — I am no different from you. Trust me on that. I am usually scrambling at the last second to scrape Punny Monday together. That’s why these liquid times are going to be such a joy!
I find it wonderful that you are trying to go through these posting schedules to give everyone a better chance, Quilly. That is so thoughtful.
Thanks, Rosidah. I just hadn’t realized it was important to anybody or I would have thought of something sooner.
