Oh I like the last few lines~
“He turned and fled over the edge and into the wild because civilization isn’t.”
I remember reading an article, saying about foxes diminishing in numbers because people kill them.
HalfCrazy, civilization can be downright terrifying.
This POEM is simply beautiful and how lucky you were to see one of these magnificent creatures in your yard! And, yes, in my humble opinion you are a poet.
Bev — thank you. Your words are candy to my ego. Let’s just hope they don’t give me a fat head! 😉
Wow, in your back yard? How lucky you are to see such things. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one up close and personal.
Peg — my mate works on a nature preserve. Last Summer I was trying to photograph a deer and kept having to back up. The camera wouldn’t focus because she kept getting so close!
Great poem Quilly. Perhaps your country visitor will visit again one day and the next time your camera will be handy!
CL — I always keep my camera on the window sill, but in this instance it was the wrong window in the wrong room!
Very nicely done! I didn’t know there really was such a creature as a silver fox.
Believe it or not, Barbara, this is just a color morph of the typical Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes).
