Christmas in July

Hello mommy’s friends, this is Christmas, sometimes known as Chrissy. Listen, I know the clean clothes are on the floor, the books have been knocked off the bookcase and Fluffy and I have been caught right in the middle of the mess with our blue hippo spongee and all — but you musn’t listen to mommy. No matter what she says, we’re innocent.

Dang it, Fluffy! I thought I told you to lay down and look cute!

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Did I ever tell you about my sister Jackie? She never realised that she talked everyone’s ears off about the cat…until an old student in her college said to a new student: “So has Jackie told you about her kitten yet?” in this sort of bored, rolling the eyes, monotone.

Talk about them as much as you want. And post lots of pictures. They are adorable. I think Chrissy is my favourite.

  2. Your cats are beautiful. They are larger than my dog (a chihuahua). When I find another job I will have to invest in a new camera. Enjoy each photo op and have Fun!!

  3. your cats are so pretty, I have 2 pretty feisty ones too. They used to like one another and be housecats but my mom let them out while visiting and now they love it more out there than in here, and they hate one another.

  4. Jenn, I have a sister named Jackie. She doesn’t talk about her cat incessantly, but sometimes we still roll our eyes at her.

    q — your puns ar a CATastrophe.

Pauline — the cats read this blog, please don’t feed their egos! How’s the job hunt coming? AND, I’d love to see a pick of your dog.

Kristi — my cats adore each other — though occassionally Fluffy gets a bit irritated at Chrissy’s kitten antics. Fluffy has been outside. It must have been traumatic, even though he has no marks, because now he won’t even stay in the same room if a door is open. Chrissy is crippled and out is not an option for her.

Whew! Thank you all for posting!

  5. What would we do without our cats!? Anyone want a kitten? Some nice person saw fit last summer to drop us off a match for Morty (pure white). We named her Pearl E. White ( I know- it’s really bad) but we call her “skinny Pearl” Anyway, she recently blessed us with 5 “mini Pearls”…
