Presents in the Mail
My aunt mailed me my grandmother’s salt and pepper shakers. I learned to cook using these. And my sister, Jackie, sent me this wonderful book mark “just because” according to the card that came with.

I love that so much. One of my cousins got two handkerchiefs my grams stitched on…I have been hinting for years now to get one! I hope she´ll take the bait eventually.

I love presents like that! I have my mother’s teapot that is shaped like a squirrel. Ugliest damn thing you’ve ever seen, but I have only a fist full of good memories of my biological mother and one of them is a tea party using this pot.

Kat — I spent a lot of time with Gram in the kitchen. Often I just sat on the stool by the fridge and talked to her while she worked.
