San Juan Winery

Friday Harbor has it’s own winery and I stopped by for a visit — just for all of you!

The Vineyard Flower Beds

Beautiful and vibrant landscaping ads to the atmosphere.  It was a bit windy when I went, and most of the flowers did not photograph well because of it.  Here is the tiniest sample.

  1. Oh! You remind me! I need to stop by OUR winery and see how the vines are doing! These are lovely shots! One of the wineries we visited in New York had a brewing barn – or shed… but ours doesn’t – ours all goes on inside. This really is lovely! I would love to sit on that veranda and have a sip! The flowers are gorgeous too!

    1. Melli — I wish you were here because we could have sat together and sipped. I did not want to order a glass all by myself.

  2. Elizabeth — welcome. I am glad you enjoyed the flowers. This island is a very beautiful part of God’s creation.

    1. Hey, Terry! Actually I am having a very relaxed, stress-free vacation. Quiet photo walks and long naps and tons of simple harbor gazing. It is wonderful.

To find the winery, just take Tucker road out of town (it becomes Roche Harbor Road) and drive until you come to the gates. If you see the camel you’ve gone too far.

  4. I would have never thought that a winery could be up there. I would have thought it would be too cold for some reason. I love wineries. (don’t get on me for spelliing LOL) It is wonderful Q. Looks like it’s very quaint and laid back. And those flowers – They are spectacular. Those are macros? I’m so getting to love Friday Harbor…what a wonderful place. It is so different than what I thought…keep up the good work 🙂

    1. Thom — too cold to grow the red grapes. Those they ship in from Yakima. The white grapes they grow here. This is a very quiet, mellow place. I love it.
