Punny Monday — Special Tuesday Edition

Welcome to Punny Monday. Every Sunday evening about midnight Hawaii time I post an original photo and ask my readers to figure out what was going on in my brain (or Amoeba’s) when he/I/we made it.

Punny Monday

What phrase does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players. The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.

PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends. Oh, and just because someone announces they’ve won, doesn’t mean that they have. Please keep guessing until I post the answers!

Hints:

The type of cross doesn’t matter.
I don’t know why Davy holds his fingers that way. It isn’t relevant.
Doug, it isn’t disrespectful!
Jane — thank you!

What is Davy doing?

NO WINNERS!

It looks as though we are all

At Cross-points!

  1. Oh boy. If anyone should have a guess for a pun featuring a Celtic cross, I’d surely be the one, you’d think? But I’m clueless!!

Will have a pint of Guinness and try again…
    😉

  2. I’m sorry but making frivolous puns about the crucifix are impious, disrespectful of one who suffered for you and badly timed. I can’t see clear to stigmatize Him further. Good gael!

      1. Oh my. No, there was a missing sentence that revealed that I was joking. The comment in full was supposed to end with “by which I mean, I have no idea.” Sorry for the misunderstanding. But you know me well enough by now, Quilly, to know that I consider piety a low and common blasphemy.

  3. Circle of Life?????

And Doug…..you don’t know Quilly very well…..she would NEVER be disrespectful of our Savior nor his sacrifice!

  4. Haven’t got a clue this time. I somehow think the gesture with the right hand has something to do with the answer.

  5. I have NO idea… and I gotta get out of here… I’ll send a wacky guess or two… and I’m sure it will come to me while I’m shopping!

    1. Linda — “feeling cross” is where I started with this whole thing, but Amoeba told me that might be hard for people to decipher or appreciate since it was The cross I was using. I chose Cross Points instead, but still managed to offend Doug.

  6. Maybe it just went wacko being on Tuesday instead of Monday! LOL

I’m really not cross – that was just the only pun I could think of, and you KNOW I have to get something in!

Thanks for giving our brains a work-out!

  7. Honestly? I don’t think I’ve ever heard that phrase before… I even GOOGLED cross point to see if I could come up with a phrase for it … and didn’t get much… OBVIOUSLY! LOL!!!

And I don’t think any of our blogs are quite as happening right now as they sometimes are — everyone is sO busy this time of year! With one thing or another….

  8. Very witty Quilly,. I got the point part but failed to make the connection “cross points” I have a bit of med head right now (had the flu) so I may be typing a bit on the dippy side if so I apologize. Sorry I missed everythign the last few days, will try to catch up tomorrow!

  9. I’d never have guessed Cross Points. I’ve never heard that phrase before that I can remember. Cross Roads, yes, but not Cross Points. Another great Punny Monday, Quilly. Yup, you stumped us this time.
