The author: Carla Barnhill is the former editor of Christian Parenting Today magazine.  She also served as Associate Editor of Campus Life magazine. Carla is now a freelance editor and writer.   Her knowledge on the spiritual formation of children’s education is sought after by thousands of mothers at MOPS conventions, women’s retreats, and churches around the country.  Carla, her husband, and their three children make their home in Minnesota.

The illustrator: Elena Kucharik is the creator of the Care Bears characters that were so highly popular in the 1980s. She illustrates all the Little Blessings books. She and her husband live in Connecticut.  They raised two daughters and have three grandchildren.

  1. This sounds like a good book, Quilly. I miss those complimentary books from the reps now that I’m retired. Come to think of it, now that I’m retired the library people seem to want their books back on time. I miss keeping them a bit longer.

  2. OH WOW! I LOVE that book too! And I’ve only read those two pages. And IF I had access to Luz EVERY DAY I would ask to be in it… but since I don’t… I’ll hope that just the right person gets it!

    I didn’t mention before because you’ve been too generous to me already from the 12 days of Christmas … but I do have a pre-schooler, sooooo, put me in the drawing please! My kids love books; I think I’ve passed on my library gene threefold.

      No matter how often you win, if I am giving it away and you’re interested, sing up! My blog is wholly self-supporting. With my paid posts I earn the money for things like package postage, and this book came to me 100% free from Tyndale House Publishers.

      1. I only wish I lived closer: could I possibly be farther away from Hawaii without leaving the planet?? I can’t imagine what the postage would be for a hardcover book. Thank heavens for alternate (American!) addresses, and for being there again in a few months!

  6. Oh Quilly, I would love to have that book for our 2 year old grand daughter. She LOVES books and this would be wonderful for her. Her mommy and daddy are teaching her about Jesus and this would be great addition.
