I love Voydo! They’ve just made it possible for me to convert songs I find on youtube to mp3 files!. All too often the exact song I want to download is available on a YouTube video, but I can’t find it anywhere else on the ‘net. Since I am old, the stuff I am looking for came into the world on albums (we wait while the 30 somethings Google “albums”) and the only place I can find it online is YouTube. I have to tune in and play them on my laptop. But dragging my laptop along on my walks is a real pain — especially when it is raining! Amd I’m not upgrading from my iPod shuffle to one of those video machines. My eyes are for looking at the world, not watching the tube.

  1. Hmm. I have some software that does this and I’m very pleased with it. But this is the first time I’ve seen a server side application that does it.

This is how I get a lot of music. IThe only thing you’ve got to watch out for is that sometimes, the person uploading the video will add their own sound effects. For example, I’ve got a great version of Mandy Moore doing Rhianna’s “Umbrella” (and I hate Mandy Moore and Rhianna, but it works!), but at the end, it does the Yahoo yodel. And on Eagle Eye Cherry’s “Save Tonight” there’s the sound of a crash in the middle of the song.

  2. I looked at this and you have to fill out a survey before you can download. I don’t know if I like this idea.

Will wait till I get home to try it, don’t want to mess around with my sister’s computer.
