Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Not been to Florida? Well, visiting us must be a priority then.

If finding a new place is anything like the one over the weekend, yikes!

  2. I would have commented before Brian but I was too busy screaming and throwing things. Then my hands were to agitated to type. But now I have calmed down. I will put your tag on my procrastination pile and promise to get to it. I might even set up a countdown clock.
At least we would be the same color crayon.
    So much material to assimilate.
    Data overload!
    Data overload!
    Brain shuting down. Can’t process.

  3. What a cool flower. Can’t say I’ve seen one of those before. And nice writing. Are you settling into your break? We have a few more weeks here.

  4. UGH! 2 people before me! Dr. John was up early this morning! Goodness! THIS was WONDERFUL! Today I found out that Quilly is more like ME than I even expected!!! I dO wish Dr. John had visited me today – before you BROKE him! Annnnnd… I think I should point out that I did NOT tag you — I specifically SAID it was NOT a tag! It was only a HOPE… thank you for responding to my HOPE! (I didn’t know you were sitting on the mother load!)
WE really shoulda been teenagers together. And adults too.

  5. OY! Even Robert snuck in there while I was typing! Geeeez! I had to give Mom a BATH first thing this morning!

  6. That is a beautiful flower! So many me mes and so much catching up for you….it sounds fun, isn’t it. Saw over at Melli’s that you were having a good day…ie the bed snatched you up for a bit, and you needed it. My sofa snagged me yesterday morning for about an hour.

  7. The flower has a carneval dress ! Sad that tomorrow “blue” comes to an end. Looks like if you cleaned off your computer from memes, lol !

  8. Boy you are just blogging your heart out today, huh?

I must say that that flower is so unusual and beautiful! The blue tips make it the perfect choice for your last Project Blue photo.

Can’t wait to see what the next color will be!!

  9. Love the peeps of blue on the flower, so pretty! It was fun reading the memes…you have nooo more secrets..hehe.

  10. Brian — I am clairvoyant. NOT. As to visiting Florida — I am not up to swimming that far!

Dr. John — I only tagged you for ONE of te four memes. Honest.

Robert — my first day of break I cleaned the house, and discovered that my bed is evil. I walked into the bedroom to put someting away and the bed wrestled me down and kept me in a sleeper hold for TWO hours.

Melli — I got in enough trouble as a teen without adding you into the mix! Oh my!

Gattina — yes, and cleared up a goodly amount of memory in the process.

Karen — save the best for last — I know I just recently read that somewhere ….

Shelly — I have LOTS more secrets, and we’ll keep it that way!

Juliana — I usually do one or two memes per year. I figure this lets me off the hook for a good long while.

  11. I love those plants/flowers, yours is simply beautiful.
Can’t wait for the next color 🙂
You were so busy with those fun memes! you had a pet named Christmas?? 🙂

  12. Mar — I had a cat named Sidewalk who had kittens by emergency C-section on Christmas Eve. When the vet handed me the tiniest kitten, naked and pink, he said she wouldn’t live. Her mother and I were inclined otherwise.

When I moved to Hawaii I gave Christmas to a little old lady who adores her, but I miss her still.

  13. Quilly, I just popped over here at the end of project blue and now I see what I’ve missed.

You have beat me to the end of the school year. I’m done on Thursday. And I’m definitely ready for the break. I’m going back into the fray next year, but it looks like you won’t be.

  14. I know you have not been happy teaching this year. I think you would enjoy older children. I hope you have not quit but are looking for another position.

You have been going to open houses. Does that mean your are looking to move?

That is a very unusual flower and very pretty.

  15. Hmmmm… another move on the cards? I find moving more stressful than pretty much anything else in life, so I’m assuming you have a darn good reason to be moving again so soon.

  16. My pc and my amera are my favourites too Quilly!
Hope to see you again when I get back from the South of France! Looking forward to doing new projectsagain with you! bye now!!

  17. I could never visit Hawaii- I’d never find anything big enough to haul all the plants I’d want to take home with me.

I enjoyed reading your answers to all those memes.

  18. Wow – when you catch up on meme’s you really catch up!

    I enjoyed reading it all.

and I love your last blue just as I loved all the others.

I’m happy to have discovered your blog.

  19. Willow — I will be teaching next year, but it won’t be pre-K!

Andrew — just a bit? Is that your confession that you didn’t read them all?

Betty — yes and no. OC commutes 2.5 hours one way to work each day. We need to live closer, but the rents closer are horrendous.

Doug — so I spell funny. Did you just discover that?

Mumma — read my comment to Betty!

    Raven — or crazy.

Jientje — have a great trip. Takes lots of pictures.

Cindy — you wouldn’t have to worry, the agricultural inspector wouldn’t let you take most of the plants home with you anyway — and the things he would let you take away you can already get in the states.

Dianne — welcome. MAke yourself at home. There is a niche here for all. I’m on my way to your place for a visit.

  20. Lawdy…way too much info for my head and how long did it take you to do this! I do know you much better though and I DID read the whole thing. I wanna meet someone and have him take me away to paradise…

You are one happy and fortunate lady Quilly! Yippee!!

  21. Okay, Charleney Beanie,
I’d say you are about all memed out.
    Whew!!
I think it is a great story about how you met OC. It should be made into a Lifetime movie.
    🙂
