Sky Watch & Coral Trees

At Foster’s Botanical Garden, while one is walking around looking at the ground cover and the orchids, one shouldn’t forget to look up at the trees.

The concept for Sky Watch came from Dot and if you want to join up or to see other Sky Watch photos, please visit Sky Watch, a dedicated site for this growing meme, kindly hosted by Tom at Wigger’s World, Sandy Carlson from Writing in Faith and imac from imac’s photos from the mind’s eye.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. I am speachless ! I almost dropped my cup of coffee ! such a beautiful flower against this blue sky !! That’s a nice wake up, thanks, lol !

  2. I’m so far behind here. I just caught up on your posts. Lots going on here so I apologize for being so delinquent. I like these pictures a lot. I also really liked the eaves dropping shot for Wordless Wednesday. More stuff coming up that I’ll probably end up blogging but I’ll try to stay caught up here! Take care.

  3. Those coral blossoms are exquisite… and against the blue of the sky even better. Fantastic photos, Quilly!!

    I’ve posted my first SWF!

  4. Andrew — thank you.

Rambling — neither had I before coming to Hawaii.

    Luiz — thank you.

Gattina — thank you! Glad you didn’t burn yourself.

Yummy — I am willing to share.

Robert — I don’t keep score. Come by when you can. Life is for living. Blog after.

    Jules — breathtaking, even.

Judi — they are sweet and scicy all at once and they don’t just smell good, they smell heavenly!

  5. It seems to me that at Foster’s Botanical Garden one needs to be a FLY with many many eyes!!! (and wings wouldn’t hurt either!)

  6. Reba — and a pretty bird it is!

Anthony — practice, practice, practice ….?

    Peppy — on my way.

Melli — but you’ll want to take your own nose, or at least one just as good.

    Mary — thank you.

Jenty — I think the orange makes the blue seem more intense.

Polona — that’s what I thought when I saw them!

Brig — that you agree, or the photo? 😉

    JC — thanks you.

Dr. John — that one green leaf looks a little lonely, don’t you think?

  7. Gemma — I love looking up, too, now that my eyes no longer see concrete at every turn.

David — Thank you very much.

    ES — thank you.

  8. Love the pictures and the tree… I am late getting here but at least it allows me to things I might have missed otherwise… I could not believe the post above… I thought what a strange name.. then the seed casings came into view… two great posts…

Forgive this part of my comment as this is done by Copy & Paste.. but with over 300 to visit and check I am sure you will understand…
May I thank you on behalf of the Sky Watch team for your post this week and for helping to make Sky Watch special.
    Tom :O)
