The Muffed Target #20

The Muffed Photo Meme is sponsored by Thom “Bite Me” Robinson, and can be found every Tuesday on his blog, Thom’s Place 4 Well, Whatever. Believe me, this meme really fits in his “well whatever” category:

Each Tuesday post a completely crazy, messed up photo — one you would normally delete. The subject matter isn’t important — did you take a picture of your thumb? The lens cap? The wrong half of great Aunt Betty? (Really, she usually has a head …) Or perhaps you’ve got a shot of your own nose hairs taken while you were trying to determine why the flash wasn’t working. Whatever your photo goof is, we want to see it!

So, let’s all expose our photo flubs. You show me yours and I’ll show you mine!

Note to self: When photographing a partridge quail in a pear spruce tree, if shooting through the living room window, turn off the flash.  That “white mist” is actually the glare of the flash off the window.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. I like the effect! Looks like a rain forest mist. Except they probably don’t have those trees and birds in rain forests. But I still like the effect.

  2. Well if you wouldn’t had said what this was I would have thought it was just the fog that can be produced in the PNW. I agree with Barbara I like the effect. But when we download our photos we do know what we did wrong…sometimes…Indeed this is a “well whatever” LOL Mahalo for playing Q. Much appreciated.

Wonderful, Quilly. I too was thinking it just as well could have been a very fogy morning. We have them here along the coast, you do also, right?

BTW, if someone still has an old very inexpensive camera with a flash can’t be shut off then just cover it over with the finger. Works also instead of running to a menu if the camera doesn’t have an on/off switch.

  4. Actually, I was about to say the same thing. The white mist just looks like fog. It makes for an interesting shot. Looks like you just can’t take a bad picture, Quilly.

  5. Just looks like fog to me.
I had not seen a real Partridge before, just heard about them in the song. Reminds me of the Partridge Family. Remember them?
