You know I almost didn’t take this picture. We were at the gas station and I was sitting in the car. OC asked me to snap the photo. I told him I wasn’t good enough to capture that glow. I’m right. I’m not good enough. Luck did it.

OC knows you are good enough! Great photo of a beautiful sunset. As to lightning and my phoshopped photo, the tree in November looks even more like it is electrified.

OC was right. you are good. and practice makes perfect.

if unsure, try automatic settings on the camera. then check the image on LCD. if it looks too bright, close down the apperture or increase the shutter speed or adjust EV metering. if the image appears too dark, do the opposite and repeat. you are only limited by the size of your memory card. you can still delete the less successful images directly from the camera or later when downloaded. sometimes you can get surprised by a certain result only after downloading the photo.

How is the water in makaha? I heard it was pretty dirty from debris and things due to heavy storms just wondering bc i am coming in a wk.

  8. quilly says:

Gavin, the storm was some time back. The beach has been repaired. The bridge has been re-centered in it’s pilings, and the water is full of surfers, so all must be well.
