#245 — Cormorant Condo

Cormorant Condo 2009.
Photo taken at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal, Anacortes, WA. from the back of an outbound ferry.

One of the best pieces of advice I have been given as an amateur photographer is, “be sure to turn around and look behind you”.   This sight doesn’t present itself to the forward facing passenger on the outbound journey.  Had I not decided to turn around and look over my shoulder as the ferry was leaving port, I would have missed it completely.

With a ladder for those who are afraid to fly down to catch a fish! Great find! As to my bug, I am not sure what it is. There are damsel flies and other insects that have a resemblence to dragonflies.

    What an awesome shot :D!
That really is the perfect place for them.

Lew — I don’t know what your bug is, but indeed it’s cool!

Nicole — I took a lot of shots, but this one was the best.

Wow! I really like how detailed the shot is. You can really see all the details in that wood and even the birds. I also love the cool blue tones of the wood with the soft greenery behind them. Awesome colors! ^_^
