Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Melli — and how would that toilet relate to you? Hmm? Or are you admitting that you’re full of ……… 😉

Doug — I’m laughing here. You really ought to be ashamed you know!

Dr. John — You have half of it right there in your name!

Holly — I never met her. IS she a friend of yours or your alter ego? 😉

    Cath — he was.

Bill — uhm — no. I doubt any one has ever looked pretty sitting on a toilet, and no matter what you’ve been told it doesn’t …….

  2. Ha! This one completely stumped me. Good job thinking of it, Quilly, and good job coming up with the right answer, Doug (and Crazy Cath).

  3. Ah… yea… I am actually full of it! JOHN CANDY! That’s GREAT! I really didn’t think in terms of John…

  4. i don’t know whether it’s the language or the culture but this is beyond me…
it was fun following it, though 🙂

  5. Brig — and I thought it was going to be too easy!

Melli — I said it was a PERSON. First thing I would have gone for was a name. I’m still trying to figure out how you got Candy MAN — the seat was down.

Juliana — I did wonder if my friends from other countries would know all of our celebrities and our slang. In casual company, it is not unusual for the bathroom to be called a “john”.

  6. I was soooo kicking myself! If I had bothered to get over to your blog earlier and see the hint earlier I would have got there sooner!! If you understand that. :0/
As soon as I saw the hint, hubby and I had managed to come up with it in about 5 minutes, because we had spent the last I don’t know how many hours translating the language… we knew you referred to sweets as candy and the toilet sometimes as a john (much to #2’s absolute disgust!)
It just did not click until we saw the clue. It was great to bend the mind though.
[Did you have to put the Truly Scrumptious one in?!! *cringe* lol]
    Great fun. Next one please…

  7. I wondered how difficult this exercise would be for people not familiar with our slang and culture. Next Monday’s offering will be — I hope — more universal AND a little easier.

AND — I will ALL the guesses. I think that makes it easier on the people who guessed wrong to know others did too.

  8. splish splash, I was taking a bath…

    right about 3 a.m.

    hollering and a’yellin’

    it’s gonna be smell len

when I slap upside the haid…

    “put the damn seat down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  9. I was afraid to guess, all I could come up with was Candy ass……..haha and I knew that wasn’t right…..
