Today I Created

I spent the day building a new website. This one is not for me. This one is for God and my church. None of the links work because I don’t have final approval from the council to actually fly this baby. I also don’t have the content I need to put behind the links! Take a look and tell me what you think.

  1. Personally I am not church at all, but the website looks fine to me ! I think you did a very good job !

  2. What a nice fresh-looking site. As the builder of what is almost certainly the most boring website ever, I am envious. Your site has a nicely uncluttered feel to it and I really like the little highlights when you mouse over the links down that right hand side. Pity those links don’t do anything yet because I was intrigued and attracted enought ot want to press them.

    1. Melli — I Found a glitch last night. Apparently the template has a flaw. One cannot view individual pages. Click the link and you’ll get a “page not found” error message.

  3. Hey wow, I’ve spent a few days working on a new website too, though for a different cause. My church in West Virginia already has a website, and the one here probably wouldn’t know what one is, or be able to use it. *sigh*

So to answer your question, I think yours is a job beautifully done! All the necessary information is easy to find and clear, it all looks good, and its being interactive is perfect for a church. The banner’s beautiful, and I like that you showed both people and the building, so visitors can feel welcome to the community as well as be able to recognise which church it is they’re looking at from the street.

    Yup, it’s great!
    Now do mine LOL

    1. The photos were given to me by a professional photographer, but they are great, aren’t they? I love them. Thank you for the specific feedback. (You must be a writer.) And as I was building this one I kept snarling, “Why did I agree to this?” so, until I’ve forgotten my frustration, I won’t be volunteering for such again!

One thing I would tell you about website building is either move to WordPress or get your own domain and use the WordPress software (free) to manage it. You have much more control of what your template looks like and what widgets you choose to fancy it up.

    1. Bill — you didn’t read the comments did you? I went to all this trouble and the template is broken. I have to fina another that will work as well — and unfortunately the church staff has already fallen in love with this!

  4. The website is fantastic!!! I maintain my church’s website and I love it! I did not toally design it, but I am the sole administrator and I make all the changes and updates daily. One thing I did not see was your photo in the collage. Maybe you should slip one in of you and Amoeba?
