Thom is Missing!

Oh my gosh, Thom is missing!  According to my email he has just vanished!

After doing some checking I find that Thom’s blog has indeed vanished, however you will be happy to know that Thom himself hasn’t.  He is still answering his phone and can be reached on both Twitter and Facebook.  There are some hardware issues being addressed by his service provider.  Thom’s blog — and Thom — will be back as soon as these issues are resolved.

In the meantime, Thom has just gotten to work.  He is driving his bus in Waikiki today, and really, he isn’t missing at all.  Relax!

Update: 5:25 p.m. PDST — And he’s back!

WordPress.Com — Screwed Up!

Gotta love it — best platform on the net?  Right.  All of my WordPress sites have the same set of stats.  No matter which blog I am on, I get the stats for Quilly’s Camera — even my hosted blogs that aren’t on I use the WordPress platform to blog with and it is universally scrambled.

That’s not the best part though.  Next, I can’t log into any of my blogs.  None of my passwords work and I tried requesting a new password.  Great that seemed to be working — except it isn’t a password for my BLOG, which I requested, it is a password for their support forum.

At this point I am really frustrated.  I go to their support forum to see what’s up — and nothing about this little glitch is anywhere in sight.  Furthermore, I cannot find anyway to add the problem or ask a question.  I used to like WordPress because support was accessible.  I won’t be saying that anymore.

Do not even mention Blogger to me — but does anyone else have a blogging platform they like that is accessible and has SUPPORT?

By the way, Amoeba is so ticked because he can’t get into the Dudes, that he’s ready to delete the Dudes, OC & Quilly, and my sites, too.

UPDATE: WordPress support is back up.  Progress is being made.  Of course, the forum is crazy with folks as confused and irate as me, so the folks at WP are probably wishing support was still down! LOL!

Old Friend, New Blogger

And when I say old friend, I mean really old!  Gary and I met in college.  He is the reason I took six semesters of Spanish and still can’t speak a word of it!  He is likely also one of the factors that kept me in college when it would have been so much easier to quit.

Gary was dedicated to his family.  They always came first no matter what.  His friends were second.  I don’t believe I ever asked him for help I didn’t receive.  I do remember getting scolded several times for not asking for help when he thought I should have.

Gary was my best cheerleader and my most ruthless critic.  Because he would tell me what-was-what when he thought I was  wrong, I was more inclined to believe him when he thought I was right.  (That’s how I ended up taking 6 semesters of Spanish and getting the only two Cs I have ever earned in my life! )

At any rate, Gary has decided to join the league of bloggers.  As is usual with him, once he made up his mind he jumped in with both feet — and two blogs.  Each blog showcases Gary’s unique personality and wonderful sense of humor.  They also reveal a very sharp mind.  I don’t know how he’s pulling that off, but he does seem to be getting away with it.

His blogs are, Smart Sports Talk, and Visionary Political and Economic Thinking.  Despite the fact that neither one of these topics are my favorites, I am actually enjoying Gary’s blogs.  Humor makes all the difference in the world.  Gary’s humor cuts like a scalpel right through all the rhetoric to the bottom line.  When I finish reading one of his posts I am laughing and shaking my head.  Go check them out, you’ll see what I mean.

A Touching Plea

I removed this comment from my blog, then decided to share it with you anyway:

My dear Quilly,

I been watching you from my far.  Please say you marry me.  You strong, handsome, brave.  I be good wife. I know you good man have good heart.

I am inclined to answer this one.  She does seem to be in dire need — of glasses!

Could you come to my blog and leave a comment without noticing that I am female?  There is a huge photo of me in the sidebar! And JiaoJin isn’t the only idiot out there.  I get a lot of spam comments that start, “Hey Buddy ….” I know spammers aren’t very scrupulous or very bright, but since they are trying to make a living you think they’d take the 2 seconds required to discern whether I was male or female before posting their desperate pleas for whatever scam they’re running.  I mean, it would up their odds of being taken seriously, wouldn’t it?
