The Fake-Pregnancy Diet

You want to lose weight? Just convince your body you are pregnant.  Sounds insane doesn’t it?  According to TrueHealthyProduct.com, there is a natural and healthy way to lose weight that does just that. The HCG Diet tricks your body into thinking it it pregnant so it burns fat at a higher rate. Not only that, the supplement that convinces your body it is pregnant also stimulates the burning of fat stores that are only consumed during times of pregnancy or extreme starvation. I’m thinking the 21+ days of eating only 500 calories per day might do it, too! If anybody has tried this method, I would be interested in hearing your first hand experience.

  1. Quilly that is one interesting concept. Our brain is powerful thing. This also reminded me ‘why we buy more when shopping on hungry stomach’, lol. Sorry cannot try this method, I get other ways to keep my weight down, running after the two year old. Thanks for the interesting post. Anna 🙂

  2. I always lost weight when I was pregnant — with the twins I lost 64 pounds!!! I always said if I could just convince my body I was pregnant ALL. THE. TIME. I would lose weight. But somehow this doesn’t sound like the way… I could be wrong though… but I ate a LOT more than 500 calories a day when I was pregnant!

  3. I gained 50 pounds with my first and 47 with my second. I don’t think I ever want to be on a preganancy diet. I don’t think my body knows how to burn at a higher rate. Sigh…

  4. I’ll pass. For one thing, amoebae don’t get pregnant, and trying to stimulate something that isn’t there just seems … wrong, somehow. For another, the concept of fake pregnancy being therapeutic is hardly original. Aldous Huxley wrote about it in 1932. But I don’t think he favored the notion.

  5. 500 calories a day is a starvation diet. It will surely convince your body SOMETHING strange is happening, but I doubt the long term health benefits!

  6. I also lost weight during my pregnancy, but I prefer my grandma’s method : eat the half. then pretending I am pregnant, lol!

  7. My problem during pregnancy had nothing to do with losing too much weight (quite the opposite!) so I don’t think this diet would work for me at all.
