Same Song, Different Virus

Sick again.  Weak trembling.  Spending too much time with john — but at least I have royal seating.

Today a new symptom assailed me — swollen joints.  My knees, elbows and knuckles are puffy, stiff and sore. And an old symptom remains — the stuffy nose and congested lungs.

I am achy and sore and miserable. My eyes burn and even my hair hurts.   You all play nice without me while I crawl into a corner and sleep.

Just keep it down please.

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Oh yikes! I’m so sorry, Quilly. I wish I was there to make you some chicken soup. Please get some rest and feel better real soon.

  2. Thinking of you this morning and wishing you a quick recovery from whatever virus it is that insists on visiting you way too often!

  3. Quilly, please, please, please, go get tested for Lyme. The swollen joints, particularly, are a symptom not to be ignored. The ticks that carry lyme can also carry parasites that can be devastating to your immune system.

    Please?

Amoeba, tell her we both say so.

  4. It sounds like the flu. Hope it’s not rheumatoid arthritis! OK, now you’ve got my mind spinning with all kinds of awful scenarios. Hope you feel better soon, Quilly!

  5. This sickness stuff has outstayed its welcome. Perhaps you need a big “go away!” sign for your immune system to hold up?

  6. Awww … hope you’re feeling better by now! Especially since you’re having to roast all those chickens! Of course a BIG pot of chicken soup would be a good thing to do with some of those silly birds! Might even make you feel better!
