Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Have fun today! I had already seen OC’s blog – it was as I figured. And why I’ve stopped this twice! Blogging takes a lot of time. I enjoy it and miss it when I stop – but can understand why many people choose not to do it. He has a full plate right now.

  2. i hope you enjoyed the movie. which did you see? i went to read OC’s blog and i think we all understand his position. he certainly writes so beautiful. he is very smart, a wonderful match to you.

i wish him all the success that should have been his throughout his carreer. sad how the real worthy ones sometimes go under the raidar.

i love you and send you hugs..xo

  3. Quilly! I LOVE it when you make me do homework! (Jeremiah)

Sounds like OC’s plate runneth over! How will he ever squeeze YOU in?

  4. OC’s blog doesn’t allow comments? How can I leave a message that says,” Wha?”

I’ve heard it before, but I don’t understand how a blog is something that has to be “given up”. Announcing that you’ll be blogging way less… okay. Life’s like that. But “bye forever” is just silly!

As for the financial renumeration, I’ll buy beer if OC is in the neighbourhood!

  5. When you next “see” the old curmudgeon, tell him I passed thru south bristol last week wishing he had stayed put so that I could stop by and pay him a visit. I have a middle schooler who is keen on being a research biologist. How can I explain to her that her likely employers are little more than grant-seeking whores who appear to have no respect for anything but federal dollars and big-ticket football teams?

It sucks that OC is gone. I hope he can find a joyful reason for resuming his blogs, something like “I am doing this because it is fun, people like me and because it really ticks off the money grubbers.”

Let him know he’s missed even by us newbies.

  6. Jackie — the movie was great and LB makes really good chili.

Chana — people in blogland don’t seem to be looking for smart. And yep, OC is wonderful. The movie I saw wa, Pirates of the Caribbean, At Land’s End.

Melli — I keep that verse on my desk. OC said he was sorely tempted to answer you, but if he did then he’d be BLOGGING! And fitting me in doesn’t seem to be a problem since he doesn’t consider time with me “wasted.”

Morgan — talk to your mom about that — and check OC’s site again. I’m certain he didn’t set a timeline.

Nessa — should that happen he would likely return.

Dr. John — the movie was quite good. Church was stressful. I was on the worship team (Pastor was at Annual Conference). When I stood to make the announcements (they handed me a paper to read) I was so startled by the need to announce my own going away party that I forgot to allow for the greating time, and went right into the children’s sermon … People don’t like it much when one messes with their order of worship.

Sauerkraut — Welcome. I forwarded your message to OC.
