Sneaky Flies Away

This is Sneaky. He is moving to Europe. Since he’s a little fella, he can’t fly all the way to Europe on his own, so he’s going with the help of the postal service. He was somewhat fearful and dubious about this venture, and to tell you the truth so was I. He needs to be treated like delicate porcelain — because he is.

First, I made him a cozy little nest out of bubble wrap inside a cozy little box. Next, I bundled the cozy little box in bubble wrap, and inserted it into a box just a tad bit bigger. Finally, I wrapped the whole thing in a bit of brown shipping paper and a lot of packing tape.

Using mental telepathy (dragons can do that), Sneaky assured me that he is quite comfortable. Then he settled down to hiberate, which will conserve his oxygen supply and keep him from getting hungry. Sneaky voiced one more tiny worry: he wondered what if, when he gets to Europe, his new companion can’t get the boxes open? I assured him that wouldn’t happen ….

  1. Sneaky’s getting pretty popular – I just went to his new owner’s blog – and there’s his picture again! You know, with those claws, if he DOES get hungry, he’ll get through all that packing!

  2. Ditto above comment.

Good luck to you and to O Ceallaigh. Too bad he is working so hard and giving up the blog. Is that what Ghandi would do? Just askin’.

  3. He’s so cute. I have a relative of his living in the leaf on my coffee table on my front porch.

You have been very busy and working hard. When are you officially leaving LV?

  4. Jackie — yeah, I went by Morgan’s blog right after posting and was very surprised to see Sneaky there, too!

TLP — nope, Ghandi would have never blogged in the first place.

    Morgan — so do I.

Nessa — MONDAY! But everything is fine and I’m not stressed — even if I did grab my camera instead of my cell phone when I tried to make a call today.

Polona — I am certain Sneaky will be loved and card for.

  5. Melli — Sneaky’s nesting box is plastic. I am sure he was safe even before I bublble wrapped the exterior, but I didn’t want the smaller box to jiggle inside the bigger one and bounce Sneaky around. Too much jostling could make a hibernating dragon cranky.

Kat — me, too! So far I’ve seen most of the U.S., a bit of Calgary and a bit of Guatemala (Guatemala City, Quetzeltanango and Antigua).

Morgan — I hope you plan to have a guest room.

  6. I bet he´s gonna be just fine ove rat Morgna´s. Europe is grand, and has many interesting new places for him to see 🙂

    I think this is nice!
