Ruby Tuesday Bridges the Gap

Our Ruby Tuesday host is Mary, the Teach.

On Tuesdays you can post any photo you like (it must be one of your own) that contains the color RED. Your photo can contain lots of RED or a little bit of RED.

Visit Alice to find more players in her photo challenge, Bridging The Gap.

Although you’ve not seen this exact photo, you have seen this view previously on my blog.  The bridge the jogger is running over is the Makaha Stream Bridge.  The bridge you see arching over the road is a cart bridge and foot path which connects the Makaha Country Club with the Makaha Golf Resort.  Yep, on either side of this lovely little winding country road, there is an 18 hole golf course.  Thirty-six holes within walking distance to our condo, and given our time and money constraints, OC has taken his clubs out once.

And here we have a bit of graffiti on the side rail of the Makaha Stream bridge.

The second photo was taken about a month ago and the graffiti was eye-popping red and fresh.  The first photo was taken this evening, and if you look at the side of the bridge you can see that the graffiti has been white washed over.

Hey, I know you missed me yesterday.  I am sorry.  I was away from home most of the day.  I will be leaving the house very early today, too, and not returning until evening.  I will try to catch up with you as soon as time allows.

Today I am going on a job interview.  Prayers are accepted and appreciated.  I’ll let you all know what happens.

  1. Ohhh good for you with the two-fer! I passed under a spot with 3 of ’em yesterday — and the whole way home I was waiting to get to that spot so that EVEN IN RUSH HOUR I could snap a pic of it… and when I got there my battery was dead! UGH!

Your red graffiti is great too — IF graffiti can BE great! (well… it CAN be great if it is actually ART…)

  2. Not only are the bridges good, you also worked in the red. Well done. Good luck with your job interview. Good thoughts and prayers are going out for you.

  3. Great double whammy Quilly for Ruby and Bridges. I’m praying right now that things will go well for you on the job interview and search…

  4. I didn’t know you were going for a job interview today. Hope they have the good sense to hire you on the spot.

Thank you so much for the link and featuring my little blog all week. Lordy, I’ll have to think of really good stuff to write this week.

I don’t think i have a picture of a bridge anywhere. Maybe a bridge hunt is in my future….and i was thinking a nice slow day would be good. 🙂

  5. I knew where a pink bridge was but it was too far to go to get the picture.
A great find and two bridges as well.
Hope the interview goes well. I’ll keep you in my thoughts.

  6. somehow i managed to miss you last night so i’m here this morning (i never blog on mornings!) to say i love the bridge and graffiti. now this kind of graffiti is real cute although i understand they would want to wash it over…

i wasthinking along the same lines for yesterday’s post but, remembering the pic i eventually posted, chose otherwise.

  7. Oh my prayers sure will be with you for the interview. Can’t wait to hear about it. I like the first shot. I’m not a fan of graffiti though! 🙁

  8. I like your two bridges in one shot, Quilly. I took some pics just before dark tonight…. well, maybe not ‘before’ dark exactly, but….. Anyway, I might have a 2 for 1 shot there too. Just need energy enough to walk to kitchen for my camera, and back to couch to put mem. card into laptop. It was a ‘ruff’ day, haha.
