Melli’s Alphabet Photo Challenge

Melli, our hostess with the mostest, presents:

The ALPHABET PHOTO CHALLENGE

Week Thirteen: Y & Z

The Hawaii Convention Center uses Ys to hold the roof up!
Such a Ys thing to do!

And last but not least, a zebra striped Z.
The poor thing came to Hawaii and got sunburnt.

And finally, the photo you’ve all been waiting for:

The Gate
Be sure to double click and enlarge it.

The Gate’s gate.

This challenge has been a blast!  Thank you, Melli.   It was a super fun 13 weeks and I probably didn’t use your name in vain more than 5 or 6 times!  What’s up next?

  1. Aaaah, the GATE!!! That must be the home of a very creative mind, judging from what’s stored behind that gate!! I love your letters this week Quilly!! So sad it’s over, but I might have an idea for a new challenge!!

  2. Your Y and Z are fabulous! Your Z never pretended to be a N either! That’s GREAT! And that GATE! Oh that GATE!!! Oh my gosh, I LOVE that gate! IS it on a home? Or is it something else? I ask because the building next door does NOT look residential… That gate was just an AMAZING find…

  3. Love the Y supports!
The striped Z was a great find as well.
Sorry OC wouldn’t stop for you for the same Z I found. I wasn’t stopped. I took that shot from the passenger seat as a drive by. 🙂
I’d love for someone to put a plain white background behind the gate – it would make it gorgeous.

  4. To ALL — the gate is on the University of Hawaii at Manoa Campus. It is behind the Art Building and houses all kinds of scrap that may someday be transformed into art.

Bill — someone will come up with the next Challenge post-haste, though it may not be Melli.

Jientje — I think the gate was likely a joint project. It is amazing. Soon you’ll get to take your own photographs of it.

Janet — that gate has never had so much attention!

Nessa — what’s not to like?

Melli — somewhere in the comments to every post bearing a photo of the gate is the answer to its location — even in the answers here.

Doug — and it still has wonderful secrets I’ve yet to discover.

Hootin’ Anni — that building is all Ys and glass. It is pretty spectacular.

    Mar — thank you.

Carletta — our windshield always seems to have too much salt film for decent picture taking from the car.

Barbara — read my response to Melli, then see the first comment on this list.

  5. Thom — Jientje has offered a new, even harder challenge.

Juliana — in person the gate is even more amazing. A photo just can’t do it justice.

Shelly — see Jientje’s post for today!

Hootin’ Anni — I almost didn’t say it, but now I’m glad I did.

Cindy — that gate supplied most of my alphabet and could have granted me more, but I deliberately went looking elsewhere.
