#232 — Don't Look Up

Argiope Spider 2009.

These big colorful spiders fascinate me. They mean no harm to humans, and some scientist believe that the reason Argiope decorate their webs with huge Xs is to keep birds and people from blundering through them.   They primarily feed on small insects.

    Awesome macro!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a spider in those colours.
    WOW!

And I love your walk shots on your other blog too.
Am just a tad tired tonight to hop on over and comment.
(Mowed the lawn and did some work on the grapes, now I’m pooped).

I don’t care to meet up with one of these critters when I am out walking! You have posted some great shots while I was visiting with family! Love the bird in flight.

Nicole — it is very striking, isn’t it? I am not fond of spiders, but I had to snap this one.

Lew — supposedly, it will not hurt you. I’m glad you went back and checked out what you missed.
