Life Through My Lens

#224 — Lovely Lilies

Lovely Lilies, 2009.

These gorgeous flowers are in a water glass on my dining room table.  That bright white light behind them is the window.  I broke the “don’t shoot directly into the light” rule on purpose.  I was attempting to get a macro shot that I hoped would make the flower seem translucent.  That didn’t work, but I like the shot I got anyway.

Nicole — thanks. This was an experiment in backlighting. I was going for this pastel effect. I am so glad the window didn’t wash the scene out.
